a company founded in 2005 and owned by Chris and Natalie Cook.
We are located in Walkington, East Yorkshire and we are registered
in the UK number 5616376.
The Best Rides Motorcycle Atlas has been produced by CC5
Ventures Ltd, with Collins Maps and Atlases, providing the
mapping, and Cyclops UK Limited providing the speed camera
locations www.cyclops-uk.com. The Atlas is also supported
by the BMF.
It should be noted that the speed cameras are located on
The Best Rides ONLY. Due to the size and scale of the mapping
there would be no room for anything else if all the speed
cameras were shown!
The idea behind the best rides came from two converging paths,
as a new rider where do you ride? and then planning a tour
of Scotland and trying to plan the best rides on the itinerary
whilst missing out the boring roads and the motorways!
 When
planning the tour we found that there was limited information
on the best places to ride and all the route planners are
designed for car drivers, in that they either take you the
shortest or quickest route, which is not what we were looking
for.
Initially, the chosen medium for the venture was a route
planner for motorcyclists on the internet, www.thebestrides.co.uk
and the launch date April 2006, but the challenges of making
the route planner work and the research into the rides, led
to the postponement of the launch until this biking season
2007.
In-conjunction with the website the idea of an accompanying
Atlas was developed in early January 2007 as it was also that
an Atlas would deliver the spontaneity and freedom that maybe
a planned route would not. We felt that an Atlas designed
for motorcyclists and showing a over 300 of The Best Rides
would be a valuable resource, for both new and experienced
riders, we hope you agree and buy one!
The rides have been collated from hours of research and
interviews on the road, at cafes and at the NEC and the Alexandra
Palace and as well as from www.motorcycleroadsonline.com which
is now owned by CC5 Ventures.
